Winning at Suncorp Stadium is never easy, but this NSW side is ready to deliver.
Queensland are missing Greg Inglis, Matt Scott and Johnathan Thurston from their best 13, and let’s not forget the Blues got within a Michael Jennings fingertip of winning at the Cauldron last year in Game 2. In an extremely even contest, NSW are the value at $1.85 in the head to head market.
Head to Head Tip: NSW – $1.85
If the Blues are to win Game 1, they won’t streak away with it – this is Origin after all and NSW will need to grind it out. That’s why I’ll be backing them 1-12 rather than 13+.
Tip: NSW 1-12 – $2.50
It’d be un-Australian not to have a throw at the stumps for first tryscorer in State of Origin, so we’ll go with tryscoring machine James Tedesco at $13. Hopefully, Teddy will be chiming into a sweeping backline move and slice his way through the Maroons defence for the night’s opening try. James Maloney is the value at $26 given he’s the man that will be backing up on the inside should anyone split the Queensland defence up the centre.
Tip: James Tedesco First Tryscorer – $13
Laurie Daley has picked quite a defensive side when you think about it. The bigger bodies of Dugan and Hayne were preferred in the centres due largely to their ability to defend so I don’t think we’ll see too many points in this one. Take the unders which was at 32.5 points at the time of writing.
Tip: Total Match Points Under 32 – $1.90
